Dig Pink Volleyball Game
OA, Faith Lutheran, D28E
Annually, Faith Lutheran hosts a Dig Pink Volleyball Game to raise awareness for breast cancer. Key Club works to create decorations and promote the game for the entire school. During our lunch time meetings we have been working to create decorations for the game. This includes cutting out and gluing together pink volleyballs to display around the school and around the arena lobby. These decorations are strung together to hang up around campus to raise awareness about breast cancer and to encourage people to attend the game. This activity is ongoing and is taking place over several meetings. We are continuing to make decorations and posters for this game, and will help facilitate activities at the volleyball game.

On September 28th, at Clovis North High School, the Harry Potter Regional Training Conference was held from 10 AM to 4 PM. The event was Harry Potter themed, and the attendees were sorted into their respective houses: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff, and encouraged to come in their house colors. At the entrance, the members were given chocolate treats resembling a Golden Snitch, and after the hosts- division and regional officers- introduced themselves, the attendees played some games as icebreakers before the training sessions. Then, the training sessions lasted three rounds, with a lunch break in the middle, where an opportunity for service hours folding origami was provided. The training sessions varied from ‘Running for Office’, where members learned about taking a leadership role in their Key Club journey, to ‘Key Club Rizz’, where members learned how to entice new students into joining and persuade current members to stay. It was an eye-opening experience and allowed our club to meet members from other places, all while having fun with friends.
Shinzen Garden
FS, Clovis North, D05N
When I first entered, the groups got together and grabbed gloves and equipment. My group got a bag of soil to furnish the corners of the sidewalks. After about 1-2 hours of work, we got rakes and brooms and walked around looking for leaves and whatnot. A little over an hour later, we took a couple breaks with different people that were also assisting us in our area of raking. When there were no more leaves to pick up, tools and leaves were put in their designated areas. An hour before 12, we collectively looked for any tools left behind. Then, we went back to the main seating area and called it a day.

On Saturday, October 12th 2024, members of Region 7 Key Clubs gathered together at North Hollywood High School. At the high school, Key Club members gathered together in their respective districts’ merchandise and attended workshops to learn more about what it takes to be a key club leader. The event was very entertaining, they had a scavenger hunt and many events that allowed members to socialize with other people they hadn’t previously met. From the very start, I could tell that people in the different divisions were thrilled to be there, many students were quite extreme and one even dressed as their region’s mascot. Everyone was very nice and sociable, it was easy to meet people from there. The workshops were very educational, they really made me understand the purpose of why people join Key Club. Many people from D03 North did not attend so we gathered with D16 Pari,s which was a very interesting experience to say the least. Overall it was a great experience, we did many insightful workshops and got to try out our spirit before the real spirit battle later in the year.
