Choice Center

DT, Sierra Vista, D28S

Volunteering at the Teen Leadership program has been incredibly rewarding. Whether setting up chairs, leading activities, or mentoring teens in their emotional growth, every moment has been fulfilling. Seeing them gain confidence and build connections has been inspiring. This experience has taught me patience, empathy, and the power of supportive leadership, enriching my life profoundly. It has also given me better communication and teamwork skills. Watching the teens improve and tackle challenges has shown me how important community support is. The friendships I've made with the teens and other volunteers have been really meaningful and will stick with me.

D13S Water Wars DCM

JP, D13S

At the June Water Wars DCM, I had a lot of fun! The DCM was held at South Gate Park with D13N and D13W. After briefly getting lost in the park, I joined one of the three division-mixed groups for the icebreaker. Afterwards, our division’s 5 committees were announced, as well as the monthly recognition for June, followed by folding origami cranes for service with the help of the LTGs and Google. We then played a game of tug-of-war before getting into the water war. It was fun getting to attack the other divisions with water balloons, and even funnier seeing the three division leaders go after each other. It's debatable who came out victorious, but I’d say D13S took home the win. All in all, it was great to get out of my comfort zone with this event and I can’t wait for the next DCM.

Officer Training

RS, Redlands, D36E

Despite it being the summertime, Key Club continues to demonstrate determination when it comes to helping and building our community! Firstly, the month of June introduced our first Officer Training Conference, aka OTC, of our upcoming 2024-2025 school year. Office members were invited to attend OTC to bond with others within our district and get further information on how each position runs and their responsibilities! Secondly, July brought on the annual Strawberry Festival held by Redlands Kiwanis. This provided an excellent community service event for Key Club members to participate in. At this event, members aided in the different activity stations as well as aided the elderly in traveling from station to station! Regardless of these responsibilities, Key Club members were also able to enjoy their time at the event and spend time bonding with other members!
