Montgomery Garden Volunteering
RS, Kearny, D21
Around 9:00 in the morning, President Katelynn and myself met in front of Montgomery Middle School for our planned restoration of the garden. Key Club has helped with the garden in the past with similar restorations, so this was just another routine maintenance. Once we walked over to the garden entrance in the back, we waited in front of the gate for someone to let us in. After a short while, we had some short introductions with our team for the day in the garden and split up to get to work. Our job this time was to clean up the gazebo area and replace some of the withered floorboards with newly painted ones. Throughout our time there we had many interesting conversations and got the gazebo looking good again. We did everything from pulling weeds, cutting, painting, and installing wooden planks, and picking up trash. Later that morning, Vice President of Finance Long helped us with the remaining duties and finished up with us. Although we didn’t completely finish the restoration, we made great progress and met some very cool people. It was a great experience!
Spring Into Action DCM
NN, Lakewood High School, D13N
On February 25th, Lakewood Key Club attended D13N Spring Into Action DCM! This DCM as always was held at Bellflower Kiwanis Hall but moved earlier in the day due to weather conditions so that hopefully more people could make it. Before it had started everybody was told to bring a blanket or plushie and a board game so that we could keep warm in the cold weather and just vibe to some games! One person even brought their Wii so that people could just dance on it! When most of the chairs in the Hall filled up we started with an Ice breaker called Psychiatrist. It's a game where a person has to guess what move everybody does before answering their question! It was super fun watching the other people trying to figure out what move everybody was doing and I think everybody enjoyed it by how loud they were laughing. Quickly after we went over Old business then New business and finished with Recognitions. Alena (our MRC) also had some news to tell us saying how she was moving away and it was gonna be her last DCM with us:( We went on to play some of the Board games and you could tell how much enjoyment everybody was having from all of the screams! Overall this DCM was super successful and chill!
At the beginning of each term, your CNH District Executives create goals they work diligently to complete by the end of the term. The 2023-2024 goals are as follows:
400,000 Service Hours
$200,000 PTP/YES! Initiative
32,000 Dues Paid Members
Let's work hard to reach all of our goals by District Convention 2024!
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to the leadership team!
